Barbara Drazkov

Barbara Drazkov is a modern music pianist, composer, and performer based in Brussels, known for her innovative use of prepared pianos.

She collects old pianos and transforms them using various materials placed in between/on strings, creating unique sounds that resemble a range of instruments or electronic samples.

Her current work blends classical techniques with experimental sounds, establishing her as a prominent figure in the alternative music scene.

Barbara composes and performs her own music for originally prepared grand and upright pianos.
Recently she has also been writing music for theater and animated movies.

She has collaborated with renowned artists: Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Mats Olof Gustafsson, Wim Henderickx, Nicholas Lens, Szymon Brzóska, Dominik Strycharski, Manjunath BC and Sammy Baloji among others and performed at prestigious venues globally, including the Sydney Opera House, National Opera in Amsterdam and NCPA in Beijing.
